What type of government did south korea have in 1950?

In 1950, the South Korean government was an AUTOCRACY. While South Korea was officially a democracy, there was no rule of law and the "Presidents" wielded levels of power similar to any other dictator. It was only in 1986 that South Korea became a liberal democracy.

Why do Koreans have small eyes?

Koreans and other asians have small eyes due to the region that they live in. Most Asian Americans (that were born and raised in america) don't have small eyes like there relatives at home. Environment plays a big role in natural selection. Like how most Africans have big lips because of the hot environment. (Im not being racists its true.) So the features of a person relies on how big their ancestors were and your environment.

How did Japan influence Korea?

From a cultural and political standpoint, Japan, Korea and China influenced each other greatly. Since Korea was a peninsula between Japan and China, in history Korea mostly influenced Japan, with the introduction of the Chinese language (which later became Japanese), Buddhism, and other cultural goods.

In fact, the Korean perception of Japan was that the Japanese were an uncultured, barbaric people.

The main instance when Japan influenced Korea was during the Japanese occupation (annexation) of Korea after the First World War until the end of the Second World War, a period of almost 50 years.

It was during this time that Japan influenced Korea in such ways as:

(1) Until the annexation, Korea was a devoutly Confucian nation. Men and women were not allowed to cut their hair as a sign of respect to their ancestors. The Japanese made short hair mandatory.

(2) A lot of Japanese words entered the Korean dictionary, and are used by many regional dialects.

(3) The Japanese system of education strongly influenced the Korean system, and traces can still be found today. (i.e. uniforms, corporal punishment, standing for the anthem, greeting the teacher, etc.)

How are North and South Korea different?

South Korea trades in the free market, it's economy is booming. Its industrial development includes manufacturing consumer electronics for the US and Europe. North Korea has a poor economy. Heavy industry has failed to provide economic stability, and agriculture under its socialist dictatorial government has failed to supply enough food for its people.

North Korea or Democratic People's Republic of Korea has a socialist government that follows both Songun and Juche ideologies. On the other hand, South Korea is named Republic of Korea or Korea for short and has a constitutional democratic government.

Some that are rude have been thinking that Koreans are fake. People who are not smart enough or not smart at all will think that Koreans are fake. But the real truth is that Koreans are not fake. Do not believe everything that is on the Internet, these were posted by people just to make fun of Koreans.

Real answer and proof: No, Koreans are not fake. They are real! Koreans are 100% real. If you don't believe, you can go see real life Koreans. Who said that Koreans are fake, don't ever believe that person. Never believe everything you've heard because those were made up.

Why did the Koreans immigrate to America?

Koreans tried to find better economic opportunity so they traveled to the US in hopes for jobs or fertile land.

The first generation of Korea who immigrated to America was mostly women who married to Korean War soldiers in Korea. Also back in 1950's Korea was shattered by Korean war, so many people wanted to find better opportunity outside the country whenever they could. The rate of immigration has reduced since then because South Korea became a developed country.
