How can you combat your mental instabilities?
I asked this question and this is my description on how I feel:
Hi,
I'm a 17 year old junior and i need some serious help.
Now I have read a lot of places that this may be hormones, but I don't care - this is important to me.
So, I have been very into music ever since i can remember. I play three instruments and I plan on attending a specialty college for sound engineering and music production 0 maybe becoming an artist later on in life. Music is my life. Every emotion I feel is done so by a song or a melody or pattern i hear or or replay in my head. I tend to over think everything, I have a bad case of OCD, (wring correction and perfectionist), and I have ADD.
Let me start off by saying, im not a weird kid. I have friends and I talk to people and hang out with them and all that jazz. I wouldn't necessarily choose to do that regularly, but i want to fit in - and i do it well. I am a very closed minded individual when it comes to drugs - i smoke weed maybe once a weekend though, and i don't try many new things.
I have too high of expectations for the music I try to make. When I sit down to make a song, I get so pissed off I feel like sitting there and doing nothing - which happens a lot. I have a feeling like, I could never make a song as great as the ones my favorite music artists (Damon albarn of the gorillaz, danger mouse, the shins, so on) make. I feel like they have done everything there is to do and I could never make anything better or even close to what they did.
I mean, i honestly cant even listen to my favorite songs because i become so upset with myself. Im a really self conscious kid with really high expectations and overly mature views and reactions to everything. I do these weird knacks that piss me off - like look at a word and say it about 20 times until i say it correctly, I HAVE to finish the thing I'm doing or do it 100% correctly before I can move on I and grind me teeth on one side the same as the other and make sure my eyes are open the same amount and i have horrible posture so that's something to constantly think about. Im just so self conscious about so many things that I cant pay attention anywhere else.
I also feel like i am running out of time. Everything i do is rushed. Im only 17, but i feel like ill be out into the real world in no time and I have no reference to see if my music is any good. I mean, i get so sidetracked that i cant even finish a single song!
I feel like my biggest problem is my inability (or believed inability) to create music like my idols, and that is because i am so focused on appeasing my self conscious ways.
I have been struggling with this for almost two years and it keeps getting worse every day. I hate to brag, but i feel like i have what it takes to make it, but i lack the peace of mind to follow through with anything musical.
i am very indecisive when it comes to anything, mostly what sound for my music i want and constantly trying to sound like someone else. i don't know how to just, let that go?
Im not obsessed with Damon the person, im obsessed with figuring out how he does it mentally.
When I listen to Damon Albarn's music, It fills in the mental space where my peace of musical mind should be, and i feel so dependent on it and i feel like i cant make anything that could fit there too.
i wanna add that im NOT depressed in a sense of, "cutting my wrists and hating life". I just cant handle the stress that my OCD packs onto of my over analyzing of every situation - mostly life in general, not just music. but that is effecting what i can do musically and how much mental ability i can put forth to it.
There is more to say, but I can't put it into words - so ill leave it at that.
By the way, Im listening to "The Bunting Song" by, The Good The Bad And The Queen - one of Damon's bands.
3 things that happen in the body as part of the stress response?
During the stress response, the body activates the sympathetic nervous system, leading to the release of adrenaline and cortisol. This results in increased heart rate and blood pressure to prepare for a "fight or flight" reaction. Additionally, energy stores are mobilized, and digestion is temporarily suppressed to prioritize immediate survival needs. These physiological changes enhance alertness and physical performance in response to stressors.
How can you explain the role of stress in maintaining health and optimal performance?
Learn to work with your brain. Be interested in attaining knowledge throughout your whole life and never stop learning whether it means going to school or just learning about life because you are interested. Learn to give your brain a rest and have some fun. Don't buy into fad diets. There is one thing that doesn't change and it's the foods you eat: Dairy, poultry, fish, lean meats (protein), leafy green veggies (good for the colon and blood) carrots (good antitoxidants), etc. Fruits are also essential in a well-balanced diet. Grains are good for you and legumes (beans). Low fat (Olive Oil is good for you) and honey is an excellent antitoxidant and the purest form of food (won't ever spoil in a cupboard.) Low on sugar and sweets and learn to read your labels as there are hidden sugars and fats. Low on salt (sea salt is great because you only need a very little) and salt to a degree is needed in your body for iodine content. Exercise. If you can't afford to go to a gym the fast walk (get that heart pumping); biking; joking; swimming. If you don't use it, you'll lose it. Take up Yoga or Tai Chi for the mind and learn to relax it. Once the brain is relaxed the soul is relaxed. Do this at least 1 hour a day. Learn to laugh! Laughter is the best medicine because it unloads endorphins in the brain and relaxes the body. Sex is also good for keeping the heart beating stronger, good for muscle tone and also relaxes the body after sexual intercourse. STOP AND SMELL THE FLOWERS! So often people are so busy running here and there, being a diet; going to Yoga classes, etc., that they forget to see the beauty around them. If you live in a city get out of a town on occasion and go to the country or a nice lake or beach. Be one with nature.

Positive Stress
How stress can be reduced by motivation?
Not all stress is bad. There is positive stress, and there is negative stress. You want to minimize the negative stress, while increasing appropriate positive stress. You can do this in a number of ways. One such method is as follows and has much to do with good motivation. * Develop the will to change circumstances. Every one has the ability to change, but not all are willing to (for a variety of reasons). * Develop a vision which is a clearly articulated picture of the future you intend to create for yourself. In other words, it's a dream. However, if the dream does not have direction, it will always be nothing more than a dream and will never become a reality. Thus, the following. * Once you establish the vision (dream), you must create a road-map with short-term goals and objectives that will indicate you are moving in the right direction (toward the overall goal, the vision) and will give you incentive to keep going. * To achieve successful outcomes you will have to be 100% committed, and must hold on even in the face of some obstacles without discouragement, without letting go until your vision becomes a reality. The reason why some individuals succeed, while others fail, lies in their ability to not get discouraged. It's all about attitude. Attitude is everything! The old saying goes, "10% aptitude, 90% attitude." Just make sure you look at your dream in SMART fashion. In other words, * Make sure your dream is Specific. * Make sure it is Measurable (how will you know you're moving in the right direction?) * Make Sure it is Attainable. * Make sure it is Realistic. * Make sure it is Tangible. What exactly will be the end result?
Lastly remember this; the true measure of a man (meaning mankind, male and female) is not based on the cloths they wear, not on how much money they have, not their position in life, and not the mark they leave on the world. The true measure of a man is based on what it takes to discourage him.
Never let go of the dream! The only way someone can take away that dream, is if you let them. Hold on until it becomes a reality. Work out of passion, a love for what you do, and the benefit it brings others as well as yourself.
Best wishes!!

What is the approximate ultimate tensile stress for gum metal?
Well first off, I'm glad to see that you are someone who follows the news, as gum metal is quite a new development in the food industry. But onto the question.
As it is not stated whether it is bubble gum metal, or chewing gum metal, both will be provided.
As average chewing gum has a tensile strength of ~3 psi, and chewing gum metal has a strength of 500% that of average chewing gum, it can be only assumed that the ultimate tensile strength chewing gum metal is ~15 psi.
However, as bubble gum metal, like bubblegum, contains more latex in it, it has an ultimate tensile strength of ~7 psi. Bubble gum metal has a strength 750% that of regular bubble gum, therefore giving it a strength of ~52.5 psi.

How can you cope with a gay child?
Sounds to me that you are worrying a about nothing. If your child is bullied you have to stand up for them and support them regardless of the reason they are bullied. I'm starting talking about bullying because that is the only difference I can think of there could be between a straight or gay child.
Being gay does not make that child any different really, they just fall in love with someone of their own sex. All you have to do is to support them in being happy. They will probably do like everyone else in life and get married and have kids. Being gay does not prevent that. So it sounds more to me that you are having issues with the homosexuality, not the child himself.
What can you do to reduce stress caused by noise?
an easy way to de-stress is to have a bath and just close your eyes and relax but obviously don't go to sleep! another way is to listen to some music to calm you down, another way is having a cup of fruit tea, hope you feel better
Conceptual stress means intellectual confusion with respect to simple questions in nursery and difficult and philosophical questions faced later in life. Conceptual stress goes unonoticed as it is common! But its management is extremely important as conceptual stress can be globally disastrous.
humans are naturally nervous when speaking when it has 'effect' rather than chatting to your friends, which has very little influence. so uduh.
Find out the meaning of job less stress?
Do you mean getting stressed because you don't have a job? There are bills to pay every month and if you don't have a job, you won't have money to pay those bills. If you go through this long enough, you may have your car, apartment or home taken away. So knowing that this may come sooner or later causes stress.
Or did you mean a "stress-less job"? I don't believe that exists.

What is a effect of short term exposure to stress?
stress
Anger, anxiety, crying,etc....
Stress has a tendency to build up and if we don't do anything to lower our stress levels, we may find that our bodies and minds have a "melt down" of sorts.
Stress reduction is necessary if you have unexplained shoulder or back pain, migraine or tension headaches, constant "butterflies" in your stomach, hair loss, sleep problems, lack of concentration, nervousness, chest pains and fatigue. These are all symptoms that you are suffering from stress.
