What is egotistical suicide?

Answer

Killing yourself without giving a .... about your family and friends

Answer

"Egotistic Suicide" also refers to a sociological theory of Emil Durkheim that relates suicide to social, religious and political integration in society, and predicts an increased suicide rate when individualism is substituted for strong group identity. As social structures weaken, people become "excessively individualistic," and more inclined to pursue self-interests at the expense of pro-social behaviors.

Durkheim's definition of "egotistic" or "egotistical" suicide refers more to a larger sociological phenomenon of disconnection that undermines a sense of meaningful existence than an individual psychological state. The end result, however, is self-destruction due to a lack of existential purpose and attachment to other people.

Why does death seem like the only answer to life?

Death may seem like the only answer to life due to the inherent suffering, struggles, and existential questions that individuals face. In moments of despair or overwhelming pain, the finality of death can appear as a release or escape from life's challenges. Additionally, philosophical and cultural narratives often explore life's transience, leading some to contemplate death as a resolution to their search for meaning. Ultimately, this perspective highlights a profound human struggle with mortality and the quest for purpose.

Should you stay with a boyfriend who is always suicidal?

I think you have two questions here: Should you stay? And must your boyfriend be suicidal? I have to ask -- can you get him into therapy? Depending on the relationship, of the three options -- you leaving, him dying, and him in therapy, the third sounds like the best.

ANOTHER PERSPECTIVE:You should also be aware that there is a very high correlation between people who are willing to take their own life and people who are willing to take another life. If your boyfriend truly IS suicidal, GET AWAY!. Your own life may be in danger. That kind of relationship is not uplifting, nor will it ever bring satisfaction.

IF you can get him into therapy, he may become less of a threat, but YOU don't need that kind of depression in your life.

Is it wrong to wish yourself dead?

I don't know if the question of right or wrong matters just now, if that's what you're thinking about.

You are not alone if you have experienced suicidal thoughts. But you should seek professional help and confide in close friends or family members.

Suicide is not the answer, and whether you believe it or not, there are people around you who care very much about you and would never want to see you die.

Is suicide fun?

No, it's very sad. And it's either very emotional or not emotional. And it's painful, both physically and emotionally. That just ruins it's chances of being fun.

What are the characteristics of a suicide victim?

Some of the general warning signs are depressions and withdrawal. The person might start giving away possessions, or might start talking about a future without that person's presence. The thing is, you can't really tell. Some people will do those types of things just because they are sad or want to start over. ... or maybe they want attention. The best idea if you suspect suicidal intent is to encourage the person to talk to someone about it. Reinforce the fact that people do care, and that problems, no matter how difficult, are not insurmountable, and that depression is treatable. No one has to feel horrible forever. Here is a good online resource, with international numbers: http://psychcentral.com/helpme.htm Another thing I always tell my customers is: Let The Professionals Handle It! If someone is thinking about or threatening to harm themselves, please don't try to handle it yourself unless you are trained in that area. Lots of people think they know what to do, and the person ends up killing themselves anyway. Call your emergency services or suicide hotline and let them take over.

What is the fear of suicide?

What is the fear of suicide? If you mean the fear of thinking that a loved one might take his/her own life, that seems rather self-evident. But, if you mean what fears accompany one's own suicidal impulses... well, that's another matter.

Let's start with this. Suicide is usually an idea that presents itself as an option when one's pain and suffering begins to dwarf one's ability to cope. The idea that someone takes their own life as a message to the world is largely complete nonsense. When someone is in an evaporating puddle of functionality, they are hanging on. They do not later make a decision to let go, so much as they simply can hold on no longer. They do this in a state of serious mental freefall. They are not making sober computations. They are not graphing out how much it will affect so-and-so and how much it will affect the other one. No, they are being boiled alive and can only scream "make it stop."

By understanding what suicide is, the attempt to stop the unimaginable pain, perhaps we can lose the fear and discover compassion.

What type of suicide is conducted if the person cannot deal with defeat... Is it fatalistic suicide Egoistic suicide Anomic suicide or altruistic suicide?

None of the above because all those types of suicide have to do with social disorganization and the social bonds of individuals.

Anomic is closest because it refers to an event that undermines social organization, which causes confusion in terms of moral beliefs and rules. For example: a business man killing himself after the economic downturn.

Is drowning commiting suicide?

Only if a person does it deliberately with the intention of dying. If someone holds another person under water until they drown, that is murder. Falling into some water and drowning is an accident unless someone deliberately pushed the victim. Then it is murder, or possibly manslaughter if it was a prank. It would depend on why the person pushed them.

Also, a person could drown due to medical conditions. For instance, a swimmer may suffer epilepsy and go into a seizure while swimming. Or a swimmer may be about ready to have a heart attack and they might not be used to a lot of activity, and they really push themselves and then die.

Related to this is aspiration. That is when you drown on your own vomit or other fluids in your lungs. Most of the times that is unintentional, even if the circumstances that brought that on are voluntary. Someone may decide to get really, really intoxicated at a party. However, they don't plan on blacking out, vomiting while unconscious, and choking or drowning to death. A few cases like that are actually murder, such as spiking someone's drink with the intention that they will pass out and vomit.
