It is the gods which inspire Priam to seek Achilles. Zeus holds yet another meeting discussing Achilles irrational behavior. They argue but decide to return Hektor's body to Priam for a proper burial.

When Priam visits Achilles in Book XXIV, it is evident that, up until this point, Achilles has been consumed by irrational feelings of anger, ego, and unjust pride. Now, Priam appeals to Achilles emotional intelligence, appearing as the father of Hektor and not as the King of Troy. He asks Achilles to remember his own father- suggesting that a father's wish is to see his son treated with the respect he deserves.

Achilles is compassionate. He remembers the "vision" of Patroklos, looking inside himself and understanding Priam's pain and anguish. This adds to the psychological component of the book. Achilles is aware of himself in a more humane way- he is sympathetic to Priam. His uncontrolled anger has subsided and he has reached a state of enlightenment and personal development.

Agamemnon took for himself a girl named Chryseis, the daughter of a priest of Apollo. Because he refused to return the girl to her father, the god released a plague on the camp of the Greeks.

A visionary called Karchas advised him to return the girl, which was supported by Achilles. Agamemnon returned the girl, but then claimed Briseis instead, who was the girl chosen by Achilles. He did this to punish Achilles for his support to Karchas.

Achilles then left the battle and did not return until his friend Patroclus was killed. This apparently meant he viewed Agamemnon with enough respect him that he would ask him to do something for the greater good and have a certain faith that it would be done; but also saw the taking of his own girl as a insult against him and was hurt by it.

Agamemnon respected Achilles enough that at his death, he thought his armour worthy of Odysseus rather then Ajax.

If you look at the Fortune 500 companies or any successful organization today, most are realizing the necessity of team work. It is critical for the stability and survivability of organizations. There are books upon books written on this subject, too much to discuss within a forum like this. Still, lets take a look at want team work actually means - at least in part. The first we notice is that there is no "I" in the word TEAM. It is a cooperative effort where leaders must promote a mentality of team and organizational interest, rather than self-interest. In other words,its working through "synergy." Synergy is the only concept I know of where 2 + 2 = 5. What this means is that synergy is the notion that four individuals can accomplish more working as a team then if they were to work independent of each other. What successful organizations are doing today, is developing internal teams (Team Building). Each team is made up of individuals with an expertise of their own. The teams are Multi-leveled (so each level from management to front-line employees within the organization are represented), Multi-cultural (it terms of organizational culture), and Cross-functional. There is one individual who is assigned as "Team Leader." It is the team leader who is responsible for keeping team members on tract and in appropriate alignment with the overall organizational goals and objectives, in addition to organizing, gathering information, keeping order, maintaining a team charter, etc. The team works through mutual respect for the opinions of other team members, developing a mentality of commonality (common purpose, common cause), and strict dependency on each other. Camaraderie is critical to the success of any team. In order to promote this concept within an organization, you must have 100% commitment from senior leadership. This is not always easy especially where there is a well ingrained traditional way of thinking. In other words, you may have to sell the concept, and show senior leadership the benefit of team building, and what it means in term of business value. In order to do this effectively, you must be well read on the subject. There are many books and articles on this subject and its well worth the effort. Now, even if you can't sell it to senior leadership at this time, you can certainly start to develop the concept on your level. Viper1

Athena goes as far as enhancing his appearance so that Princess Nausikaa will be sure to help him reach home. Once Odysseus reaches the city that Nausikaa leads him to, Athena "pours a sea fog" around him to protect him, and she takes on the form of a small girl in order to show him the way to the palace. Once Athena leads Odysseus home to Ithaka, she disguises herself as a sheperd boy and makes conversation with her beloved Odysseus. However, she eventually transforms herself into her natural state.
