No, zoning out isn't a stimm. Stimming refers to self-stimulation, usually as a form of focused sensory input to focus on in order to take focus away from other external sensory input. Stimming includes behaviour such as rocking, tapping, flapping, etc. - there is no sensory input when zoning out.

Can a child become king or queen when their a toddler?

Yes, this has happened several times in history, when the reigning king died, while his child was still a baby. The general idea here is that the kingship passes from father to son. (Or daughter, but traditionally, it has been more common for men to be kings.) In this case, while the baby is officially a king, a "regent" - some kind of representative - is appointed, who will take care of the affairs of the kingdom until the official king is old enough to actually govern. I am not quite sure who would typically decide on who is to become regent.

Babysitting an older hardly-verbal toddler and younger toddler tips?

Written by Asker -

I've just recently started babysitting two little boys, one of them is almost three and he can't form sentences very well (or at least in front of me he doesn't). He can repeat words when he hears them, and listens to directions fairly well, but I'm worried about communication. The other little boy is like 15 months and Is just starting to walk, but is going through an attitude phase kind of, and has a tantrum when i try to change his diaper, try to dress him, or put him down for a nap.

My main concern is really the older one, because he tries to play with the little one, but doesn't listen when i tell him he's being too rough. Any tips from moms or fellow babysitters for solutions to all this?

What foods should toddlers eat?

Toddler's taste buds change based on their diet. For instance, if the child is fed sugary, and processed food, that is what their taste buds will become accustomed to. If the child is fed fruit, vegetables, and meat, their taste buds will become accustomed to that. Thus they will want to eat healthier, and it will avoid possible, future weight problems, and an array of health problems.

So, my answer would be feed them a healthy diet of fruit, vegetables, meat, and occasionally something sweet (sweet's don't hurt every now and again.)

It depends on what type of "program". In the best case, a program should be equipped to assess:

  1. head circumference of infants, and compare to national medical standards
  2. the length of infants - compare to standards
  3. weight of each infant and child - compare to standards
  4. dehydration status
  5. mouth-tongue-teeth status - problems can interfere with eating healthy, for example, oral thrush in babies
  6. parent's understanding of nutrition and a nutritional meal plan
  7. meal planning in the home
  8. avoidance of fast "weight loss" schemes
  9. instruction that babies do not need weight loss diets
  10. instruction that children need exercise, not weight loss pills or fad diets
