This portion provides essential nutrients like omega-3 fatty acids and protein while minimizing exposure to potential contaminants. Always ensure the salmon is cooked thoroughly and check for any bones before serving. As with any food, monitor for allergies or sensitivities.
Can a toddler take Zyrtec in the AM and benadrol at night time?
Yes, Zyrtec or cetirizine is a great medication if the child is experiencing any allergies, and there are hardly any known side effects. Benadryl is also a safe medication and will act also as a sleep aid for the night time. Zyrtec should be available in 5 and 10 mg tablets while benadryl will come as 25 and 50 mg capsules. Both also have a liquid formulation. I would stick with the lower doses on each.

Are repeated MRSA infections in a toddler serious?
Absolutely. But this is a very vague question. MRSA or methicillin-resistant staphyloccus aureus (MRSA) is indeed serious in and of itself because it is an infection that requires very strong antibiotics and has resistance to the most common, penicillin and its derivatives. However, within this realm of serious infections, there is a large spectrum of illnesses. An uncomplicated cellulitis (skin inifection) is one example of a lesser MRSA infection whereas a case of MRSA septicemia (infection in the blood) is often fatal. Any infection that has strong resistance to commonly used antibiotics is a serious and potentially catastrophic illness, regardless of where the site of infection is. Most often, MRSA is found in repeated infection sites. Hope this helps. Jordan Safirstein, MD www.StopPagingMe.com

How can you reduce allergy symptoms in a toddler?
First take child to a pediatric allergist. Determining any specific allergens is important in deciding what to do concerning life style, diet and medications that will hopefully lessen symptoms. For instance dust mite allergies -we chose wood floors for most of the house, washing bedding at least once a week, encasing mattresses in mite proof cases (google sources for allergy relief/encasement for mattress/bedding). Washing stuff toys weekly was unrealistic for us instead we tossed them in hot dryer for about 30 minutes. This seemed to kill off the dust mites well enough. We also bought the kids bookcase cabinets with doors so toys, books, etc could be seen and retrieved but not gathering dust when not in use. After a very short time we saw a major improvement - lessening allergy symptoms and use and amount of medications.

If it really is a gecko, they aren't poisonous. I'd observe the toddler for a day or so and not worry too much about this. If they show any adverse reactions -- vomiting, hives, truoble breathing, etc., I'd call a doctor. However I'd be very surprised if this causes any real problems.
