What would make one turn signal flash a lot faster than the other on a 2001 Dodge Durango if no bulb is out?

Check all the bulbs, front and back. If they are good then it is probably the flasher, which is usually a round plug in part under the dash, either in the fuse area or under the passenger side.

How do you fix a blinker that doesn't blink but stays on and you've already changed the bulbs?

The most common problem would be your flasher. It is a module that regulates power going to your bulbs and allows them to flash. Check with your local parts dealer and they should be able to help you without the expense of a mechanic. The flasher usually is inexpensive and easy to fix. if its not the flasher, check the grounds for the pigsockets..............Mike

How do i keep the fuse for my dashboard lights from blowing on my 1979 Chevy caprice?

"Blowing" FusesFind the defect in that circuit, and properly repairit. Fuses and Circuit Breakers are safety devices designed and installed in electrical circuits TO PROTECT the conductors [wires] from short circuits and overload conditions which can cause extreme overheating that can result in damage to the insulation and the conductors, and worse, the possibility of a FIRE which could destroy the vehicle. When a fuse, and replacement fuses blow [or Circuit Breakers tripping], especially if it happens repeatedly, is an indicator of an UNSAFE CONDITION in that circuit, usually a short. Do not install a larger fuse in a misguided attempt to correct the problem. To install a larger fuse would almost guarantee damage to the wiring and an electrical system fire. The proper "fix" is for a qualified technician, who knows what he/she is doing, to troubleshoot the circuit, find and identify the defect, and make proper repair [s], BEFORE replacing the fuse again [with the properly sized fuse].

How do you change the turn signal bulb on a 1994 Mercury Cougar?

I have a 1991, and in order to change these on the front, I have to go under the front bumper and reach in to unclamp the bulb socket, and change the bulb that way. On the back, I have to take out the trunk lining panel on which ever side of the rear is not working, unclamp the socket and change the bulb. I am not sure if a "94" is put together in this manner or not, but its worth a look see.

How do you change the front turn light bulb in a Mazda tribute?

To change the front turn lights (indicators) on a Mazda Tribute (2006 Australian model), turn the wheel away from the side you are working on, then undo the screws holding the forward sections of the mud guards located within the forward section of the wheel arch (on the 2006 model they require a shifting wrench or equivalent ratchet). Then pull away the mud guard which will still be attached but will give you room to get your hand inside. Reach forward through the gap up to approximately where the back of the turn light is and feel for the rear of the light - clasp the connector and twist anti-clockwise to release and withdraw the connector and bulb. Pull this out of the gap (there is enough cable to do this) and then change the bulb. Then reverse this procedure. It is a bit cramped but it is relatively simple. I did this and found the bulb was not blown, it was simply dust in the connector so take a close look at the bulb, test it when you have it out of the wheel arch as it may simply be dust in the connector. I recommend changing both left and right bulbs if one is blown (they will have a similar lifespan).

Why would your turn signals and flashers fail in a Dodge Dakota?

Dodge Dakota Turn Signal Hazard Light Troubleshooting (check in this order):

· Check Fuse(s)

· Check Bulb(s)

· Check Flasher Relay

· Check Turn Signal Switch in steering column

· Check Hazard Light Switch

· Check license plate light bulb and wiring

· Check all wiring harnesses and wiring for shorts

Most likely its the fuse or a burnt bulb breaking the circuit. See sources and related links below for bulb information. Sometimes the license plate and/or the trailer hitch is wired into other circuits and can cause issues in other areas. Sometimes its wires grounding out somewhere on the vehicle. See sources and related links below for bulb information. See owner's manual for location and identification of fuses.

How do you remove the rear light cover in order to replace the turn signal bulb in a 2001 Ford Focus ZX3?

When you open the hatchback look behind where the light is and you will see a small hole. Unscrew the screw that it is there. You also need to unscrew another screw that is beside the light on the outside (top right). Then you just pull the whole light assembly off the car. Next disconnect the wire from the back of the light bulb assembly. Next, twist the light bulb assemble and pull it out. You now have access to the bulb.

What causes 2000 Blazer turn signal relay to click constantly without activating the bulbs Bulbs work fine otherwise?

Wear and Tear on the turn signal switch. The switch that is multi function switch and has the cruise, signals, high beam, window washer, and wipers etc. By the way, the 4 way hazaeds are part of it too.

Brass contact particles wear off the internals of the switch and mix with the di-electric grease that is used as a lubricant inside the switch. This mixture of grease and brass once it gets bad enough can create enough continuity within the switch to fire the relay but not effect anything else except it drives most people crazy.

The relay is behind the glove compartment box and generally is not the problem.

It will click with no consistancy at all and will often slow down or stop completely when the brake is applied. The brake light circuit goes through the signal switch because the signal lights are the same bulbs as the brake lights. When the brake is applied, it usually takes enough of this transient voltage away to shut the thing up.

I just did mine and it takes about 2 hours to make the change for an above average home mechanic. Cost of part on the internet is about $100.00

You can clean the existing one but with no promise it will work so honestly it is alot of work and $100 and not having to remove it twice is worth the spend.

Why my 2000 Honder Civic's front signal light does not work when I turn on the head light. But if works when I use as signal light?

The bulb has two filaments in it. 1. The parking light filament might be burned out. 2. The ground connection to the bulb might be bad (corroded socket?). This will make that signal light flash oppositely to the other signals when the headlights are on.

A driver should generally have their blinker on a minimum of 100 feet before a turn. By turning it on long before the actual turn, it allows following drivers to prepare themselves.
