Is Rachel Maddow a lesbian?

User Avatar
Not only is she a lesbian (self-professed butch with a girlfriend of 10 years), she's very out and proud. She's also an AIDS activist, a Rhodes Scholar and an amateur "mixologist" -- and yes, she does seem to make the heart of lesbians, straight women, and many men everywhere (both straight and gay) go pitter patter. I know mine does. . . *sigh*

Why are people freaking out over the Popeyes Chicken Sandwich?

User Avatar
Popeyes released their new chicken sandwich on August 12, 2019, and so many people bought it that the company actually sold out in two weeks. After a two-month hiatus, the sandwich returned to the menu on November 3, and customers are already reporting absurdly long drive-thru lines. The initial launch of the sandwich began what was dubbed online as “The Chicken Sandwich Wars,” with Popeyes main competitor being Chick-fil-A. Customers took to social media to cast their vote on the superior chicken sandwich, and the chains themselves exchanged some light-hearted banter via Twitter. The Popeyes sandwich sells for $3.99 and is made with fried chicken breast, two pickles, and a dollop of mayo on a brioche bun.

Why are people watching Twitter's stock today?

User Avatar
Today, Oct. 24, is when Twitter reported its third quarter, after major feature changes including more aggressive targeting of harassment and abuse on the platform, which caused speculators to anticipate the earnings report more than usual. Their shares in total tanked nearly 20% after they reported missing their revenue target by 6%. In a letter to shareholders, they cited "a number of headwinds including revenue product issues and greater-than-expected advertising seasonality" as major roadblocks, despite revenue being up 9% year-over-year.

What are the Mean Tweets on Jimmy Kimmel about?

User Avatar
Some stupid people like to put down celebrities on the internet and especially on Twitter. Jimmy thought it would be funny to have the celebrity read the tweet that's written about them. It can be funny if the celeb has a good sense of humor.

Why have hashtags like Marmitegate Marmageddon and Marmexit been so popular recently?

User Avatar
It is the ending of these that have significance. The ending -gate goes back to the Watergate incident that caused Pres. Nixon's resignation. It has been used for other problems that politicians have caused themselves. Bridgegate is another which had to do with Gov. Christ Christie's problem with closing lanes of traffic on a major bridge because another politician wouldn't vote for him. The ending -ageddon is a reference to the end of the world (Armageddon). And -exit deals with the UK vote to leave the European Union which has been duped Britexit.
