What is theChance of viable pregnancy with the risk of miscarriage?

Hi

If your gynecologist says that there is a risk of miscarriage it normally means that they could not find a viable pregnancy....don't worry though in some cases when they say this it means they don't really have enough info to say that the pregnancy is viable. I went through the same thing but unfortunately i miscarried after 2 weeks. When i spoke to the doc they said they have to find a heartbeat to determinate viability if not that then they should at least be able to see if the baby is the right size for how many weeks you are. If they don't find both these things they refer it as not viable but should call you bac after 10 days for further testing to make sure.

Last period is around end of may and Urine pregnancy test on July 3rd was negative but two urine test at doctor's office on July 10th is positive ultrasound on July 15th can't see anything why?

Hello, I'm sure you're going crazy right now. The same thing happened to my husband and I and after having an ultrasound several weeks later, everything was fine. All there is at this point in your pregnancy is the sac and often times the fetus can not be seen for another week or two. Your doctor may opt to have you take Hcg blood tests to ensure your levels are rising (rules out an ectopic pregnancy in most cases). Be patient, amazing things are happening in your body. If you have spotting or bleeding then call your doctor immediately.

Will an ultrasound scan date be accurate enough to determine who the father is if you have slept with 2 different men within a month?

No. The only way to be absolutely certain of who the father is, is a paternity test. Most people still choose the standard blood test. DNA testing is 99.9% conclusive, but is more costly. Ultrasound only indicates the growth and health of the fetus. A calculated guess can be made on the "age" but definitely not the paternity.

What is a subchorionic bleed?

A subchorionic hemorrhage (also called a subchorionic hematoma) is a fairly common event in early pregnancy where a small blood clot forms at the edge of the placenta and the amniotic sac. These clots are usually around 1cm in size, but can be either larger or smaller. These cannot be "caused" but rather reflect bad luck. Although there is a somewhat increased risk of miscarriage (and, in some studies, of pre-term birth), from everyone I know and read about almost all patients go on to have uneventful pregnancies. The bleeding usually stops, and the clot resolves on it's own.

What does a 7 week old baby look like?

They are completely normal looking, even having hair and eyebrows/eyelashes.

Seven-month-old fetuses are sometimes not even considered premature, as they often have the ability to survive perfectly fine outside the womb. Fetuses have been known (in rare cases, mind you) to survive healthily after only just over five months of pregnancy.

They have normal responses and whatnot; many will even turn toward a light shone on their mothers' pregnant bellies.

If you are 12 weeks pregnant and have been having a brownish discharge but no pain and your scan showed no baby but only a sac is it possible the nurse could have missed the baby?

Sadly it looks as though your baby has died at some stage and you have not yet completely miscarried. At 12 weeks the baby is still very small but it is fully formed and would be visible.

What is the benefit of using 4D ultrasound over 3D ultrasound?

The benefit of using a 4D ultrasound is that people get to see the progress of their baby. The technology used in a 4D ultrasound allows a movie like feel since they can watch how their to be born baby is moving.

I had an ultra sound and showed a sac in uterus. Am I pregnant?

You may be if it is within up to six weeks after your last period. Before about five and a half weeks, the baby itself will not be visible yet; only the sac will be seen. Sometimes this can be a little later if the baby was conceived later than dates suggest.

Sometimes a baby may die very early on in pregnancy, or never develop at all. Then, only a sac will show. Then, the presence of a sac only indicates you were pregnant at some time but are no longer.

Will an ultrasound show you that you are pregnant if you are two weeks late on your period?

Its not likely; If you are in the latter part of your second week there may be a yolk sac but the heart beat wont even begin until week 5.

If pregnant with more than 2 babies and miscarry one will hcg levels decrease from 1300 to 700?

I'm not sure, but I am meant to be 9 weeks pregnant and went for scan and they could only find gestational sack at 6 week size, no fetal heartbeat. Prepared me for miscarriage. Then had bloods done and HCG levels were 18000, then 18900. My thoughts were that my body still thinks I'm pregnant, and hence still producing HCG...but doc wants to wait and see as he said if you had a twin and it perished, this could explain why the gestational sack is still small - so it could be a viable pregnancy....

I wish he didn't give me false hope!
