Ensure that the filter is not one that needs oil. Oil will mess up you AMS. However, most of the time the engine light will not come on with an AMS fault. You will normally sense the engine is underperforming way before.

None. Champion plugs should NEVER be used in a GTI. They will carbon up your cap and rotor and cause nothing but problems. You should only run Bosch or NGK copper plugs.

The heater motor is found on far side of passenger side of the interior. It is accessible by removing the shelf if fitted and the dust cover on the bottom of the motor. You can then move the thin foam sheet out of the way and will then be able to see the motor. Disconect the 4 socket white plug from the resistor you will see on the side of the motor. Reach round the back to find the plastic tab that stop the motor from being able to turn. Pull the tab down by about 5mm then turn the motor about a 1/4 of a turn. The motor will then drop out. The resistor unclips by pulling a tab near the top of the metal plate. Pull the spade connectors from the resistor noting theyre orientation. Fit the resistor to the new motor clip in place. Push the motor into the housing, ratate until the clips line up. Rotate the motor until the motor clicks in place. Check the resistor is facing in the correct direction and replace all the parts removed.

Four bolts under seat from frame into flooring, remove and lift out seat. Unplug any electrical connections as needed before removing seat from car.

If memory serves, it should be under the hood either near the right hand side of the firewall, but I might be wrong and it's under the hood near the left fender close to the battery. It should have a black plastic cover which may be labeled 'EEC-TEST'. Not that you cannot use a generic OBDII scan tool, you will need one of the following: NGS scan tool, aftermarket scan tool with US Domestic support, or a multimeter and jumper wire. The multimeter and jumper wire will retrieve codes but not read the data stream as a scan tool will.

if it is a SRT4 yes if not sxt with slight mods might other then that no it would not i own a 2003 dodge neon srt-4 with mods so it would be a cakewalk but for neon sxt possibly depends on drivers also , just buy a srt4 and youll walk a line around him its only like 4-7000$ more and you get much more bang for your buck and very reliable even with big turbo kits mine has 55k miles had 42r turbo kit and has had it since 22k miles and is running very strong still pulls like a horse when i get traction lol buy a srt4 there badass

I have VR6, its great, however the 1.8T is faster off the line and probably gets slightly better gas mileage in the city, but not on longer trips. If you want to spend slightly more, have a significantly higher top speed, and higher acceleration at above 50 mph and fuel economy is not an object, go with the VR6. Its also much smoother at lower rpm in higher gears which is good in the city if people in front of you are not moving that quickly.

If you want better fuel economy and the ability to edge out a VR6 by about a third of a second to sixty, go with the 1.8T.

If you want terrible fuel economy and to be able to compete with super-cars, get a R32!!

On a VW Golf MK5, the fuse box is located on the left side of the dashboard. It can be accessed by prying off the side cover.

A vw machanic didn't want to change me $100 for labor and $160 for the parts on a camshaft sensor cause is was super easy to replace myself. So he gave me direction on were to start. I drive a 2004 vw gti vr6, I hope it the same procedure for you too. On the drivers side or right side of the engine, (pull off the cover you can see/work at it a bit better) towards the back area but still on the right side. Hopefully you'll see a cannon plug (kind of looks like the top of your spark plugs). Pop that off with a flathead and a gentle pull. Use a allen wrench to loosen the actually sensor and replace to normal operating position. Check out autohausAZ.com its BBB accredited (always check a site before purchasing parts) and my sensor at 160 was 84 no shipping change. The part number wasn't the same as the dealership. But contact the parts dept at VW, w/ your VIN, and they can give you the Official #, and you can us google to match up. Or urotuning.com gave me both part numbers. But I didn't by from them because Autohauz was cheaper. Good luck!

its probably cheaper to just buy a used door. of course this doesnt account for any damage to the car, or blending of the panels. look on car-part.com for a used door

well, the golf gti themselves are the same, unless you are referring to two different model years. as far as the fsi part, there are two types of motors. the fsi and the tsi. the tsi replaced the fsi. the tsi now comes newer pistons and other features. you can buy these upgraded pistons for your fsi however from APR.
