check the fuses on top off the battery they may have blown..........or it may be a dodgy temp sensor....

Chock, jack and block the car up at the passenger rear. Scrooch under the car and slide under the the engine end at the front of the car. Look up. At the 2 O'clock position you'll see the starter bolted to the tranny adapter.

Most automatics require the depression of the brake pedal before the shifter will release out of park.

The other thing that could prevent this is that you are possibly parked on a slant and didn't set the parking brake. The little pin in the tranny is all that is holding your car from rolling - there's lots of pressure resting on that pin, so it may take lots of force to get it to move. Always, always, set the manual parking brake in automatics on hills - just do it all the time and you will never forget.

One of two places. Older models will usually have it on the label on top of the radio itself (you will need to remove it to find this) or newer models will have it on the inside flap on the radio owners manual (if you bought the car used u will not likely find this because it's a tear out section). Or you can call your VW dealer with your vin number and they will provide it for you :) Hope that helps!

i used a 1/2 of distilled water mixed with the g-12(already in there) and used the dex-lock mix by prestone and its worked out fine. the sensor light for temp that flashed red went off as well as the ac working just fine! no more start problems either as it wouldn't want to start even though i hear it clicking. goodluck

The safe jacking point on the new VW Beetle is at the drain plug. Use a square of plywood on the floor jack. The stand goes under the forward spring plate or under the round outer torsion bar.

It is behind and underneath the cam shaft gear.

It could be the mass air flow meter located inside of the air intake system. Its a faily large black (usually) sensor that will usually cause the check engine light to appear. It cost about $200 plus from VW with $87/hour charge or you can get one aftermarket for about $70 and install it yourself. Sometimes they go bad because of a bunch of grim taken in by the intake or if the intake went too long without being changed. I would suggest getting a new filter and (air) spray cleaning the meter first before buying one.

One of the bulbs is burned out. Turn on the blinker and look at the front and back turn signals to find out which one.
