Your answer would most likely be "no" unless you don't care about possibly damaging your barrel. Many of those old Ithica's have fixed full choke barrels which limit you to shot size #2 or smaller. I would not use BB or BBB. A half dozen round through it would be the most I would do in a pinch. Another option would be to purchase a $350 Hastings barrel designed for steel and rebarrel the gun. Hope this helps.
This is a very nice shotgun with the woodstoc quite nicely refinished, natural and steel-wool finished with a polyuerathane finish
I own a model xL 900 semi-automatic 12 ga. feather weight with the imp. and mod. barrels. It is engraved with hunting scenes on each side of the reciever which is polished steel. It has been appraised by a collector (in 2000) at $800.00. I would like to have a full choke barrel for it if anyone is selling one. JTOTH89960@HUGHES.NET
You can, but, it will cause a slight bulge in the barrel.
Not recommended.

Steel or Damascus barrels?
No, 6 gauge steel is thicker than 10 gauge steel. The gauge number decreases as the thickness of the steel increases, so a lower gauge number indicates a thicker steel.
The nickel steel 15 gauge Winchester model 12 serial number 580158, is valued at $400 in good condition.Ê In fair condition, it is valued at $350.Ê
NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Do not shoot steel shot in this weapon.
18 gauge steel is thicker than 19 gauge steel. The lower the gauge number, the thicker the steel; specifically, 18 gauge steel is approximately 0.048 inches thick, while 19 gauge steel is about 0.042 inches thick. Therefore, 18 gauge steel provides more strength and durability compared to 19 gauge.
The gauge of steel used in a steel garage typically varies from 14 to 26 gauge. The lower the gauge number, the thicker and more durable the steel. Thickness can also vary based on the specific design and structural requirements of the garage.
I see no reason that you cannot. The steel shot sould work fine in your ranger model 120 shotgun.
