In any electrical device, feeding an amount of voltage which is greater than what it was intended to use is prone to causing damage to it. If your airsoft gun came with a 1.2v battery, it was designed to be fed from a 1.2v current, and placing an 8.4v battery in it will cause it to feed from a current seven times greater than what it was intended to use. This creates a risk of overloading the motor, which, for electric motors, typically causes it to burn out. This creates heat, naturally, which can also have the effect of melting down the materials used to manufacture your airsoft gun (as far as I know, they're mostly made of plastics), which will render it not only inoperable, but also damage it beyond repair.

So, the short answer would be no, and you should use only the recommended battery for your airsoft gun.

Does a 9.6volt battery ruin an airsoft gun?

Yes, because the stock battery is 8.4 volts, and yours is 9.6. So, if you put in that battery you have, it should still work, but maybe shorten the life of the motor, which is easy to replace

Does the double eagle m83 electric airsoft gun come with a battery?

Yes, it comes with a 9.6 volt lipo battery, which sounds cool, but it's not a very good battery performance-wise. It will power the M83, though.

Does a 62 volkswagen need a 12 volt battery or a 6?

The 1964 VW Beetle came from the factory with a 6 volt electrical system. Unless it has been upgraded to a 12 volt system you would need a 6 volt battery. I would recommend you check the voltage of the current battery with a volt meter. If there is no battery in the vehicle, just remove a light bulb and check the voltage written on the bulb.

Will 12 volt dewalt take a 20 volt battery?

No, a 12-volt DeWalt tool is not designed to accept a 20-volt battery. The voltage and connector designs are different, so using a 20-volt battery in a 12-volt tool could damage the tool and void any warranties. Always use the battery specified for your tool to ensure safe and optimal performance.

Where can someone purchase a 12 volt battery charger online?

Can a 5 volt 1.4 amp charger be used to charge a 5 volt 1 amp battery?

Yes. A battery draws what it needs from the charger, the charger does not force current into the battery. The voltage spec. is the same. Things would be different if you were to try to charge a five volt battery with a ten volt charger. You would probably blow the battery. Hope this helps.
