it depends, if the bb bends upwards ,the gun simply has hop up which is impossible to stop(believe me I tried). there may be a problem with the barrel(unlikely) but the hop up is the probable cause.

No. Nerf darts have a hole in the back which is inserted or loaded onto a post inside the chamber or barrel which keeps them in place. Bullets do not have that hole and would not fit into any Nerf gun. And even then, Nerf guns rely on springs and air for power. Real bullets are fired using an internal hammer which strikes the back and sets off a chain reaction inside the bullet, which releases it.
With jacketed bullets, 158 gr and heavier, I get 1.5" groups at 100 yds. The earlier micro-groove barrels were abysmal with cast bullets so Marlin switched to a more conventional rifling design. I have shot both style of barrels and both shoot very well with jacketed bullets. With hand-loads I have gotten groups as small as 1" using a 4X scope.
