It's really up to you. Technically, the cross of a rosary should never hang below the rest of the rosary, but if you feel closer to God through wearing the rosary, then it's up to you. As to does it look silly? No of course not. It may be a little out of the norm and for some people who strictly follow the rules, then they might freak a little, but it's not a bad thing to do. If you are worried about breaking the Catholic rules, then no you should not wear it, but just remember that most of the rules of the Church are made by man not God.

To be quite honest though, and this is my personal view so please don't take it offensively, God is with us all of the time, so you really don't need to wear the rosary to feel like He is always with you, but i can understand if you want to do so for comfort reasons.

Hope that helped ^^

Is the rosary idolatry?

Speaking as a non-Catholic: As an evangelical Anglican, I actually never use a rosary as an aid for prayer as this device is more in keeping with the Roman Catholic tradition, although I can very much see the use of such a device in prayer. The beads on the rosary represent various prayers and statements of faith, and, by 'saying' the rosary one can be sure that prayers are said without any being 'forgotten'. Idolatry is the worship of anything that is not God - be it a golden calf, a statue, or even your car, holiday home in the Seychelles, or the Lottery. I cannot imagine any Catholic 'worshipping' the rosary as an object in itself; the rosary is simply an aid to prayer which some Christians find useful, and, therefore, using it cannot be classed as idolatry. The only danger with the rosary is that, unless one makes a conscious effort to ensure that prayer comes from the heart, there is a temptation to 'go through the motions' in saying the rosary, so that prayer becomes mechanical and superficial. As long as the rosary is kept well in its place as an aid to personal, devotional and sincere prayer then there is nothing wrong with using it - and it is certainly not idolatrous - and, in fact, used in the right way it can enhance prayer a great deal.

Where can I go to get a rosary fixed if I live in Michigan near Detroit and I am wondering where I can go to get a rosary fixed or how?

Check with your pastor. There may be a rosary society in the parish that makes rosaries that may be able to help you. Otherwise, try a jeweler. He/she may be able to make the repair.

Who inherits a Catholic priest's property?

If the priest was a member of a religious order, such as the Franciscans, who take a vow of poverty so own nothing themselves, what few things they might have - clothing, books, rosary, etc. will go to the order when they pass on. A diocesan priest makes no such vow and his property is distributed as specified in his will.

What is a 15 decade Rosary used for?

Traditionally, the Rosary consisted of three mysteries concerning the life of Christ: The Joyful Mysteries, the Sorrowful Mysteries and the Glorious Mysteries. Each Mystery has five meditations assigned to it, during which the person prays an Our Father, 10 Hail Mary's and a Glory Be on the beads - this sequence is known as a "decade of the Rosary". If you pray an entire 15 decade Rosary that means you have pondered all 3 mysteries through the 5 meditations for each mystery which totals 15 decades. Recently, the pope added one more mystery, the Luminous Mysteries with 5 more meditations, so technically this now makes a full Rosary a 20 decade Rosary. The Rosary devotion dates back to the time of St. Dominic who was given it by the Blessed Virgin Mary as a powerful devotion to her for the asking of powerful graces, especially those of converting heretics.

What is a big red rosary named milagro?

Milagro don't have much to do with a Rosary, unless someone makes a Rosary with Milagro. Milagro are often small metal pendants, or even statuary that resembles and area of the body or focus of an ailment for which you are petitioning a Saint or spirit for special attention, blessing, and healing. For example, if you are having problems with your feet you may carry a Milagro of a food with you to ask the Saints for special help in heeling your feet.
