I currnently own what I believe to be the same model you have a question about. I reside in Va and last weekend I took the firearm to a place called Clarks Brothers in Warrenton. Steve, their Gunsmith and I believe owner gave a verbal estimate of 300-700 dollars. If yours is in the same shape or better this 90 year old can be worth as much as 1,000 to a collector. Mine has the orig. scope as well as the fixed sights. Google, Stevens .25cal 1915 rifle and follow the link to The Stevens Store... very informative and helpful. I was instructed to insure at 1,000 no less just in case. Like muscle cars don't scrap em restore them so future generations can enjoy our heratige. I would entertain a phone conversation @ (571) 235-4087 if I may provide any help. Semper Fi!
From what I havw found out, it is worth about $250. and is very hard to find any info on. More in books than on the internet.
I am looking for the same thing. I have a J. Stevens model 54 in .410 that my grandfather left me and cannot find any info on this shotgun. It is bolt action with a cocking knob on the rear of the bolt. Any info would be appreciated.
the savage/stevens model 71 was made from 1930-1934,there were 10,000 made.
The stevens model 59A was made by savage arms from 1937-1967.I am afraid that this is the best I can do with the info available.
The information you seek is somtimes hard to find because these shotguns are listed as savage/stevens which infers that these guns were made by one company savage, which owned the stevens name along with it,s own.The model in question which is a stevens model 237 was made by savage/stevens in the years 1936-1943,with a total production of 16,000 guns made.
Made for Sears Roebuck. Same gun as the Savage Model 6 or Stevens Model 87. Savage made these from 1938 to 1968.
The Stevens gun Co made a valiant line, but it was not a Browning model. Please be more specific as to what you have.
Your westerfield model 30 was made by Stevens gun company. There model designation was the model 520. As far as when it was made I cannot find that info at this time, sorry.

That would be "1915," not "915." It replaced the 1894 Favorite. The Favorites are popular. In well-used condition they bring $100; in great condition they can get into the $300 range. Just about any gun guide (Flayderman, Blue Book, etc.) gives lots of info about these popular Stevens rifles.
Original answer = wrong answer : There is no J Stevens model 1915, so you must first correctly identify the firearm. Since the value can vary widely depending on what it is (a model 34 can run to $950 and a model 51 Schutzen rifle can go to $10,000), proper identification is crutial. You might want to visit a local gunsmith and pay him to research the gun and provide you with an estimate of its value. Right answer: I have a single shot "crack shot" J. Stevens model Favorite 1915 chambered in .22 long rifle SN#166. You are going to have to do the same thing that I am and purchase a book with all Mfrs. and their SN#s. I have searched the web for such info without luck.
The only info I have on the stevens model 94 shotgun is that it was made between the years 1926-1945.
