The octane rating in nascar is now 98 unleaded. It was a very short time ago 112 leaded. The reason for the change is simply they wanted to go "greener" by changing the fuel to unleaded for enviromental reasons. No it does not. Ratings of a game do not change and turning it down does not change the intense violence of the game another reason for the rating so that it would not even qualify for a lower rating if they did change
