El Camino Real (the King's Road) was a road built by the Spanish
connecting all 21 missions in Alta California (a Spanish colony
that is modern day California). It stretched from San Diego to
Sonoma. Today, El Camino Real serves as a modern roadway in
California, occupying most of the original road.
