White rock chickens are the commercial hybrids used by the majority of broiler producers. The commercial hybrids are originally from White Plymouth Rock and Cornish breeds. Both foundation breeds are of English origins and have excellent meat and growth characteristics as well as white feathers and skin. Their eggs are brown. The white Plymouth Rock line is usually the female line and the male line is usually Cornish blood lines. White Rock chickens have become immensely popular due to their outstanding growth and economic advantages and comprise in excess of 90% of mainstream commercial chicken meat production.
Barred Rock chickens are purebred. The word 'barred' is just a term for color. Barred means like white with gray stripes, for example. 'Rock' is the breed.
I had to do a thesis statement for Cornish Cross, White Leghorn, and Plymouth Rock chickens, so i used: "I will be telling you about three differant chicken breeds, Cornish Cross, White Leghorn, and Plymouth Rock." It's not the best but it works for me
Yes chickens are white
Black chickens like white chickens and white chickens like black chickens.
White eggs come from white Chickens. Brown eggs come from brown chickens.
all the broiler chickens are white because ,when the chickens are born the are white in color and as soon as they are born an injection is injected into them making them fat and fluffy. the broiler chickens that we see in the market are actually chicks.
Golden Comets, Red Stars and Cinnamon Queen are all red sex-linked birds. They are hybrids created by taking a Rhode Island Red or New Hampshire Red rooster and crossing him with a White Rock or Plymouth Barred Rock, White Leghorn or another light hen. These chickens are not a breed - they are hybrids bred for egg production and the fact that the female chicks will be red and the male chicks will be white. The Golden Comet has a White Rock mother, in most of the references I found, and the Red Star will have a Plymouth Barred Rock mother. So they are similar but different.
Chickens come in all kinds of colors: red, yellow, orange, brown, black, white, etc.
I don't think it has an origin. Its more of a common sense saying. Rock= hard therefor hard as a rock.
They give you chickens. White eggs give white chickens, brown eggs gives brown chickens and so on. Sometimes they turn into other gifts also such as a picnic set.
Black, brown, and white.
Some chickens can be orange. It totally depends. Most are usually white. There are not completely full orange chickens, but there can be a chicken with orange on them.
