It takes about two months for Monarchs to migrate (in a single migration) from the Northern US and Canada to Mexico. Monarchs will then mate in Mexico, lay eggs, and begin a series of 3 migrations north, taking each succeeding generation further north with each migration before doing it all over again.

It still has many different species of butterflies, such as the monarch butterfly (Danaus plexippus) which migrates into Mexico from Canada and the United States during winter months.
A Monarch butterfly's length can range from about 4cm as a baby to about 8cm as a full adult.
The Monarch butterfly is considered one of the strongest butterflies due to its long migration journey of over 3,000 miles from Canada to Mexico. Their endurance and ability to travel such long distances make them one of the strongest butterflies.

There are two different types of monarch. A monarch can be a king or queen of a country (or territory)/ the sovereign head of state; in which case their traditional residence would be a castle. Or, Monarch can refer to the Monarch Butterfly. Monarch Butterflies are fairly cosmopolitan in distribution and are found on most temperate continents, although are found in large numbers in north and central America. They would traditionally live in open areas, meadows and lightly wooded areas.
Milkweed is the preferred nectar of the monarch butterfly. They will also feed on clovers, thistles, goldenrods, ironweed, and sunflowers.
