Depends on how you define 'stronger.' Right now, China has an enormous population (and an enormous military), about 5 times the population of Russia. Part of the benefit of this population is that they have many people capable of working in factories and agriculture, thus greatly advancing the production capacity of the nation. However, Russia does have enormous resources, being the world's biggest country, though there is still a problem with corruption in the government. The next ten or twenty years will show growth in both nations, and it's hard to tell which one will ultimately be stronger than the other.

Depends on how you define powerful, as Russia has advanced capabilities with nuclear weapons (in my opinion) china has power in vast numbers. If I'm not mistaken still to this date the biggest army in the world

russian millitary have less armed and air forces but they are stronger,china has more armed and air foces but they are weaker, so if war did happen i think it would be close to a draw.
