By ending the chapter without revealing the destination of the train, Wiesel creates a sense of suspense and uncertainty for the reader. This technique mirrors the feelings of the characters aboard the train, who are also uncertain about their fate and the ultimate destination of their journey into the unknown. It adds to the overall sense of fear and despair in the story.
Whether you think you need to fix something physical or mental in your life, it all starts with your attitude. You can not take any of this with you, and the real happiness is in the journey, not the destination. So be happy while you are accomplishing - don't wait until you are done!

i think his original destination was India/Asia because of their spices. i heard that they needed a new route to India/Asian for their spices because the original route had been closed off due to another state's control of that specific trade route. but Columbus journey was interrupted because he happened upon the Americas. his original destination, India/Asia, had been compromised because he was "greedy" for the native American's abundance of wealth (mainly gold). he exploited them, enslaved them, and took their gold so that the voyage would not be a total disaster. the ruler of Spain had sponsored this journey, so he thought that if he came back with a ton of gold, the ruler would not be as harsh on him for not finding another route... at least that's what i think
