They eat much the same as any Western nation, but they do eat more seafood. There is a very tasty Norwegian goat's cheese called geitost (pron. yay-terst) which looks and tastes a bit like caramel. Another tasty Norwegian treat is called Lefse. It is like a patato pancake. They are qood with butter, cinnamon sugar, or berry jams.

Meat is usually used the same way as in the UK. Gravadlaks, smoked salmon, sweet rice-based porridge (risengrynsgrot), smoked sheephead, dried fish, reindeer and other game and whale meat are all on the list of things you might eat in Norway. Meat-balls in a brown gravy-like sauce served with boiled potatoes is a traditional meal. Another traditional meal is mutton in cabbage.
