Otters

# How are sea otters killed?

The sea otters are killed for may reasons. In the 1700-1800s on the coast of California, the sea otter was hunted for its gorgeous pelt. It was killed by fishermen who thought the otters were eating too many of the fish they wanted to catch. The sea otter were hunted almost to extinction. Without the sea otter, fishermen began to see changes in the ecosystem. In a easier way to explain...... They were used for their thin fur, since hunters are killing them they are almost extinct and if we don't have sea otters our ecosystem would be worse then expecting. Plus , every animal is important to the ecosystem. If we don't have otters then sea urchins can gobble up all the kelp in the area. This is why we need otters and we can't let them die.

Calorie Count

# Which has less fat: mealworms or chicken?

Which has less fat: mealworms or chicken?

Mealworms have less fat because Doctors recommend that people eat no more than 65 grams of fat a day. A serving of edible mealworms has 1/8 of this amount. A serving of chicken has 1/9 of the amount. Plus according to math 1/8 is greater than 1/9 , because 1 is being divided by a smaller number and hence the result would be bigger than when that same 1 is divided by a bigger number as 9. Implies that 1/9 is less than 1/8 and hence 1/8 is greater than 1/9.

Which has more protein: grasshoppers or tilapia?

It is true that grasshoppers have more protein than Tilapia fish because People in Mexico enjoy toasted grasshoppers. A serving of the grasshoppers has about 7/10 of the recommended daily amount of protein. A serving of tilapia fish has about 3/10 of the recommended daily amount.

History of the United States

# What does “checks and balances” mean?

1. The system of checks and balances in government was developed to ensure that no one branch of government would become too powerful. The framers of the U.S. Constitution built a system that divides power between the three branches of the U.S. government—legislative, executive and judicial—and includes various limits and controls on the powers of each branch.

2. A system that allows each branch of a government to amend or veto acts of another branch so as to prevent any one branch from exerting too much power.

3. The main purpose of the system of checks and balances in the United States Constitution is to ensure that no one branch of the American government becomes more powerful than the others. This is also referred to as the separation of powers.
