Basically it is to act as point of contact for all the different organizations that are working on the incident, coordinating inter-agency contacts, and to work with other cooperating and supporting agencies. The L.O. will monitor operations to identify current or potential interagency problems and participate in planning meetings to provide current resource status, limitations and capabilities. Demobilization planning can also be coordinated by the liaison officer.

Usually they will have liaisons from the various groups under their command. Also (s)he insure effective information sharing and communication between these various groups. Good luck on the test
