John Adams's "midnight appointees" were to strengthen the Federalist power. Jeffersonians could not remove some (even after repealing the Judiciary Act of 1801), like Chief Justice John Marshall, who were appointed for life. Thomas Jefferson wanted Democratic Republican judges and not Federalist judges.
yes
yes he did because Washington did it without consent of Congress
HIS SMARTNESS LED HIM TO HAMILTONS PLANS
Probably because he is mostly a peaceful guy then a war guy,but still he believes in what is right and what is wrong.
It gave the government to much power.
because they didn't like the idea of money only being spent freely or unnecessarily.
James Madison and Thomas Jefferson started the Democratic-Republican party (but they just called it the Republican party). They created the Republican party to oppose the Federalist party. The Republican party that they created was the second political party in the United States.

The Federalist majority in Congress passed 4 laws in 1798 to make the U.S. more secure from alien (foreign) spies & domestic traitors. These Alien and Sedition acts were also intended to weaken Jefferson's Democratic-Republican Party, so of course they would oppose them. Jefferson was viewed as far too French & a French invasion was feared by the Federalists.
