The easiest way is to look at the Federal Reserve Seal, located on the left side of the bill's front. The issuing district is shown in small type surrounding the large district ID letter.
The term "issuing district" does NOT mean where the bill was printed, simply which Federal Reserve District requested and distributed it. All 1976 bills (in fact, all US bills up till 1991) were printed at the Bureau of Engraving and Printing in Washington.
to tell if a dollar is fake look closely at it and there should be little red/blue "hair" looking parts on it hope this helped
If you look just below the portrait, there's a caption that will tell you it's Andrew Jackson. Every U.S. bill in current circulation has an identifying caption below the pictures on both sises.
Look below the image. The little caption will tell you that it's a picture of the White House.Every US bill has captions identifying the person on the front and the image on the back.
The year the bill was printed is on every US currency note. The year will be listed to the lower right of the bust of Andrew Jackson marked as "series" (year)
I have a confederate 100 dollar bill dated feb 17th 1864. I know it is not a copy.it has 10856 on the front and richmond. can you tell me the value?
Bills from the Kansas City Federal Reserve Bank will have the letter J and the number 10 on them.

The serial number and most times the letter on the bill.
Check the letter in the Federal Reserve seal to the left of Jefferson's portrait. If it's a Kansas City bill, it will have the letter J. Likewise, the serial number (in green lettering) will also start with J.
2 Twenties Dollar bills 1 Five Dollar bill 1 One Dollar bill
The year should be printed on the front of the bill
shine a one dollar bill at the sun. then take the 2 dollar bill and put it on a black or brown flat surface and shine a uv pens light on the bill if you see the back of the bill its real if you don't its fake
well see... there are numbers on a bill and in your case it is... $20
The fact that you are holding it indicates it is fake. There is no such thing as a million dollar bill and one has never been printed.
