The dollar did not exist in 1778. In fact, the U.S. did not have a central government in 1778 to issue currency of any form that we would recognize today.

I have one of these to. It is old but only about 20 or 30 years old. It came with a book club membership. It has been so long, I can't remember which one but it is not real, just very authentic looking.
