Hi, a 1928-D Peace Dollar is worth $14.00 :)
On a 1926 Peace dollar the mintmark is above the eagles tail not below it. Look at it again and post new question.
It is located below the "ONE" above the eagles tail feathers if this is a "Peace " dollar.
Please check your coin again. 1921-dated Peace dollars were only struck at Philadelphia. If your coin has a "D" above the "DO" in "DOLLAR" and the eagle's wings are outstretched, you have a Morgan dollar rather than a Peace dollar. There's more information at the question "What is the value of a 1921 Morgan silver dollar?"
It is quite easy, the reverse of peace dollars have an eagle sitting on a rock inscribed "PEACE", the reverse of Morgan dollars have an eagle with olive branches and arrows.
1922 is the most common date for a Peace dollar, values are $14.00-$19.00 for average coins.

There is no 1921 barber silver dollar, it is either a peace dollar (eagle perched on a rock engraved PEACE on the reverse) or a Morgan dollar (Eagle with gothic lettering above it saying "In God we Trust" on the reverse)

ALL dollar coins carry the motto E Pluribus Unum (as do all other coins, too - check your pocket change!) so that does not help identify the coin.If you have a Morgan dollar, the mint mark (if any) will appear below the eagle: none = Philadelphia, D = Denver, S = San Francisco. If you have a Peace dollar, it will appear near the eagle's tailfeathers. If you have an Eisenhower dollar, it will appear above the date.
Look below between the eagle's tail feathers and the word ONE. If there is a D it means it was made at the Denver mint.
The simple answer is, look on the back of the coin. The rock the eagle is on has the word PEACE on it.
For U.S. silver dollars, the mintmark is located on the reverse of the coin under the eagle. For Morgan Dollars mintmark's are under the wreath and above the letters DO in DOLLAR. Peace Dollars have mintmark's under the word "ONE" near the eagle's tail.
Your 1928 eagle silver dollar is actually a 1928 PEACE dollar, the first Silver Eagle bullion coin was made in 1986. But for this year of issue Peace dollar it's very important to see if there is a mintmark (S) on the reverse just above the eagles tail it makes a big difference in value. If you see the S a low value for the coin is $16.00 no S low value is $250.00. Take it to a dealer or collector for an assessment
