In 1774 king George took the first choice: mastering the colonies. To punish the colonist of Massachusetts, Parliament passed four harsh laws. The colonist found these laws intolerable-unbearable- they called them the intolerable acts.

The King of England imposed hard laws and taxes on the colonists especially the intolerable acts. He also treated them unfairly.
The American colonists did not have a say in the laws and taxes, so they felt it was unfair to have them imposed. The American Revolutionary War began in 1775.
