Harriet Tubman was a key figure in helping to free enslaved individuals and lead them to the North through the Underground Railroad. As a former slave herself, she made numerous trips back to the South, risking her life to guide others to freedom. Tubman's efforts, along with those of other abolitionists and supporters, played a crucial role in the fight against slavery in the United States.
Since your talking about the American Civil War the difference between the North and South. The South were called the Confederates and they wanted slavery. The North went against slavery and they were called the Union. The issue of the Civil War had more to do about freedom to choose. Slavery was simply the "issue of the day" much as the "green movement" is today. The south believed they had the right to lead their lives as they saw fit...ie. to own slaves etc.. The North believed that government should impose limitations on individuals ie.. slaves could not be owned. Interestingly enough, history books forget to tell us that slaves were also kept in Northern states too and that slaves were not only black, but Indian ,too.
no she did not lead any battles in the civil war however she was a conductor on the underground railway that led slaves to their freedom it was a tactic employed by the north so she did affect the civil war but did not fight
Because the North saw it as treason, that would also lead to the loss of the cotton revenues.
The individuals were called conductors.
They would follow the north star which would lead them north to canada.

They sing it so the slaves would sing it while they were working to tell other slaves to follow the drinking gourd big dipper the tonight and it will lead them to freedom.
Since the underground railroad wasn't a real railroad, but a method for slaves to escape north there wasn't a conductor. Some times people like Harriet Tubman would lead people, but many times they were just told what the next stop was until they got north.
Exactly what do you mean by this? I don't know. But Harriet did not lead the slaves to any star. She led them through an underground railroad.
she never gave up and she lead three hundred slaves safely into the north were they would be free.
The Big Dipper, as part of the constellation Ursa Major, was used by Harriet Tubman and other conductors of the Underground Railroad as a guide to lead slaves to freedom. The North Star, which is located near the Big Dipper's handle, served as a constant point of reference to help navigate in the night. By following the direction of the Big Dipper and North Star, slaves could travel north toward freedom.
They were the people who lead the escaping slaves north. The "railroad" was a series of stops on the route north. They would hide in barns, basements, and other spots over night before being sent on to the next stop.
Moses lead the Hebrews out of Egypt, and Harriet lead black slaves to freedom even though it wasn't a large group at once she still helped lead slaves to the North, but on the other hand Moses lead the Hebrews to the promise land also known as Canaan
