yes, you must download the music onto your computer, put your dsi SD gaming card (bought at target, wall-mart, meiijer in gaming section) in the SD card slot, a recogniser should pop up and so you go to the music files. when you have the i tunes music and your SD music files both up drag the music to you SD folder. be careful when you drag and drop wait till the loading symbol goes away!
When I tried to put the mp3 format onto the DSi, it wouldn't recognize it. It needs mp4 or aac. What I ended up doing was going online and downloading a free converter program. Some of them don't work properly, but if you download the free version of "Switch Audio File Converter", it will allow you to convert other versions (i.e. mp3) to one that will work on the DSi. First thing, you can go on Limewire (free) and download the songs that you want to put on the DSi. Almost all songs on Limewire are mp3 versions. You can then take those mp3 versions and convert them to aac or mp4 through Switch Audio File Converter. When I convert my files to aac, it doesn't work on the DSi. I have to convert the files to m4a version. This has worked without any problem and all the songs that I put on the SD card work perfectly.
Sorry but only AAC files can be used on a DSI!
Use a Converter to Convert your MP3 To AAC.
With iTunes, you can convert them there in m4a files.
Nintendo DS and DS lite have no actual internal (or external) storage capablilities, so you can't store files on them. You can on the new DSis though.
You can but it has to be a mp3 file.
Put music on an SD card with a MP3 and put the SD card in the dsi and go to the music section.
From your comp, put an M4A file of a song you want on an SD, then you can play it on the DSi but how????? you need to convert in to an aac file
Here is the answer for dsi. you can use an sd card to put the music on your dsi.
What you have to do is find the right converter that will convert a mp3 file into a mp4 file. It might take a few tries to find the right one. Then load the mp3 files you want onto a memory stick. Then go on the converter, add the mp3 file and select destination as sd card (You can't do it without an sd card) then convert it and load the sd card into the slot on your nintendo. Press Dsi sound then click "play with your music" select the song you want to play. You can change speed and pitch of your songs and more.
Yes! You just have to put the music files that you want onto an SD card and put it in your DSi XL. The file can only be a .AAC file. When you have it put on your SD card, go into DSi Sound on your XL and tap Play with your music.

Yes, you can put music on the Nintendo DSi, but it only plays AAC files. You will need: iTunes, an SD card, and a way to plug an SD card into your computer. First you have to download the MP3 file you want. You can do this in the iTunes Store iTunes is used for the converting of the MP3 File. When you have installed iTunes, drag the MP3 File in your iTunes window, right-click and click on it and select "Make AAC Version", which will start the converting process. When the converting is done (you'll be informed when it is done), drag the AAC file to your SD Card. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- what i did was download dBpowerAmp music converter and theres a tab that lets you choose what file type you want to convert to. b4 u can convert them to aac(.m4a) files you have to go online and download the encoder and put it inside the program files folder. theres a red button to do that. after that you can set the output of the file like desktop or i made folder in desktop for aac files and everything i convert sends it there. if you have a multi core CPU like me you can convert multiple songs at a time. after that i just opened the sd card and created a music folder in the ds file and put my music in there. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ds/dsi iplayer www.dsiplayer.com plays .mp3 .wav ect. also plays most movie file formats, .wav .mpeg ect. the gba movie player compatible with the ds/dsi/ and gameboy advance found at many sites for various prices software included with these two options
