How do you move in to a friends town on Animal Crossing City Folk?

You are unable to move out of town in Animal Crossing City Folk. Only neighbors that aren't of the 4 characters that you created can move out of town. However, you can transfer your Animal Crossing Wild World character and catalog to Animal Crossing City Folk by using the DS Suit Case function. Other than this you can also choose to delete your character or town and start a new town or character. You can also transfer your Animal Crossing City Folk character temporarily to your copy of Animal Crossing Wild World. This function is not really allowing your character to "move" but it allows you to visit a in town friend that does not have wi-fi for their wii set up.

Deleting your town would probably be the closest thing you could get to "moving" but be aware that by deleting your town, the town created, characters, neighbors, items and achievements can not be retrieved when you start your new town. This means you are starting from scratch.

you go to the town hall (not the place where you mail letters) and when the thing pops up say" i want to move" but there has to be another town for you to move to and i think the gate needs to be open

Go to your town hall, go to the environment window, choose "moving!" and the rest is up to the town you're moving to. WATCH OUT: Moving is just like deleting your character; you can't play as him anymore. :(

It's not actually possible to move your character from town to town. If you have your character from Wild World, however, you can import him/her to your City Folk game?
