What are the advantages and disadvantages of lead?

Disadvantages:

lead is very toxic, it's uses can result in pollution of the ground and more drastically, water supplies. This leads to contamination of drinking water and can cause hazards to human health as well as effecting the ecosystems.Advantages:Because of it's high levels of toxicity, lead is being bought less and less around the world, which means, naturally, the cost of lead is lowering.Also lead melts at a relatively slow temperature, making it a great solder. However China has recently been looking into buy a massive amount of lead for batteries, this would result in a big increase of the price of lead.
