Estimate your square footage of the pool. You're going to have to buy a solar cover that is larger than the pool. Lay it out over the pool and trim to fit. You're going to cut it anyway. 8 mil should be thick enough- unless you live in a cooler climate, then purchase 12 mil thickness.
