With UV you will still need to add something to the pool for residual protection. Using a salt water system you are making chlorine from salt. There are alternatives that are chemical free. One method use electronic oxidation and ioniztion and is 100% chemical free.

The bacterial cell would appear purple when viewed microscopically after treatment with ammonium oxalate crystal violet. The crystal violet binds to the peptidoglycan layer of the cell wall, causing it to retain the purple color even after subsequent washing steps.

Ultraviolet light is effective at sterilizing surfaces, water, and air by inactivating microorganisms, such as bacteria and viruses. It is commonly used in hospitals, water treatment plants, and HVAC systems to control the spread of pathogens.
Violet light has a higher frequency and shorter wavelength compared to red light, which means each violet photon carries more energy. This higher energy of violet light photons allows them to more easily overcome the work function of the material and eject electrons, making the photoelectric effect more effective with violet light than with red light.
Gram-positive bacilli are typically treated with antibiotics such as penicillins, cephalosporins, or vancomycin, depending on the specific species and resistance patterns. Treatment may require susceptibility testing for more targeted therapy. In certain cases, a combination of antibiotics may be required for effective treatment.
