At this point, all we can tell you for sure is that your rifle has been in Belgium (and was probably made there) ELG is not a brand name. It is the initials of the government proof house in Liege Belgium. All firearms were required to be sent to a government test facility where they were "proof" fired to show that they would not blow up, and marked with the letters ELG, usually in an oval with a crown over the oval. It is probably from the period between 1860 and 1915, but that is an educated guess. Many of these are NOT meant to be shot with modern high speed .22 LR ammo, so please don't. For a better answer, take your rifle to a local gun show, where dealers and collectors are gathered together- and good luck.
Who made it, what caliber is it, is it a rifle, shotgun or hadgun, how long is the barrel, is the barrel round or octagon, what is the stock made out of, what is the serial number(if any)?
