∙ 12y agoYes, penetration is still possible; spaying your female dog only prevents fertilization from occurring. The only way to prevent penetration would be some manner of castration, which would more than likely be considered inhumane.

∙ 12y agoCastration refers to the removal of the testicles of a male animal; the penis is not removed. Removing the testicles deprives the animal of a steady source of testosterone, but it is still possible, with some stimulation, for a castrated animal (or person) to obtain an erection and partake in intercourse.
Indeed, women in ancient Rome were known to actually prefer sex with castrated men, because they could supposedly maintain the erection longer -- and there was no risk of getting pregnant.
