Well, of course it has alot to do with personal opinion, but I prefer guinea pigs over gerbils, especially as pets to smaller children because guinea pigs are personable and friendly and need attention, and they are also large enough to cuddle, whereas gerbils are smaller and harder for kids to hug, and also not as friendly - they don't need attention as much and in my opinion aren't the best pets if you're looking for a pet that can also be your friend. I had guinea pigs for 5 1/2 years and enjoyed every minute of it!
Guinea Pigs also live longer than gerbils.
Guinea pigs.
Another answer
Some people would rather have dogs because they like them better. It's up to the person.
Yes guinea pigs are better than dogs.
i had a guinea pig and it was easy to take care of and it was a great pet
No, guinea pigs cannot eat hamster or gerbil food, because they're not hamsters or gerbils. Guinea pigs can eat guinea pig food that doesn't contain any seeds, nuts, grains, milk or coloured bits.
A Gerbil or a Hamster.
Well they are both part of the rodent family but they have many differences like the guinea pig is bigger, less flexible, guinea pigs are not supposed to run in wheels or balls cause of their spine is not supposed to bend that way, they have different nutrients that they require so their food is different, i know that guinea pigs can see colours (not sure about hamsters). there is much more things but I am out of what i can immediately think of.
no, they should eat food that has been made just for guinea pigs.
I would say and dwarf hamster any kind there cheaper and they wont chew the bars of your hamster cage they are really cute. but do not get two and try not to let them escape your hands. They are really fast runners that's why i got the teddy bear hamster because they come in cute colors and they don't bite as much and you can get more than one. =)
Depends. If you like a hamster you like it. If you like a gerbil you like it. Everyone has a different opinon

No! What you need to do is... *Wet a cloth with nice water not too hot and not too cold just nice and toasty *Put the Hamster/Gerbil on the cloth and wipe the cloth on your Hamster/Gerbil and dont put it by the face or eyes!!! *Turn the cloth over and put nice pet shampoo made for Rabbits,Guinea Pigs,Hamster, and Gerbil *Wipe the cltoh on the body rememeber not by the Head or Eyes! But you can clean the ears *And you Hamster/Gerbil is not Stinky
A Gerbil is more Rat Looking with a long tail, while the hamster has a short nub. Gerbils are also easier to handle for the most part. They are all 3 rodents.
