The theories are that they like the taste of grass, or they are hungry. There is no evidence to suggest that they eat grass to make themselves vomit. Not all dogs vomit after eating grass. And those that do will often eat their vomit.

Rabbits eat grass in the wild. Grass contains 25 - 30% fiber and most pet foods only contain 6% fiber. The fiber in the grass is great for keeping your rabbits digestive system moving.

*Grass or hay should be a large part of your rabbits diet (make sure the grass has come from somewhere, where there is no pesticides. Pesticides can be extremely harmful.)

Dogs eat grass because their stomachs hurt so they eat grass to balance their digestive system.
Grass provides a dog roughage that helps ease indigestion of the stomach.

They eat grass to help digest food if they feel ill and to get rid of any undigested food.

Dogs eat grass to help their digestive system swallow food sometimes they are not able eat dog food so when they can't eat or swallow their food ....they have to digest grass in order eat their food + sometimes they feel sick in their

stomach so they consume grass to put it down not up !!

Because it contains Chlorophyll, which is important for the growth of the animal! That's the coloring of green in the grass blades. Also chlorophyll stimulates healing of lesions and the deodorant effect it has on them. I am told that animals eat grass to clean their teeth??

Its not really that they eat grass and travel, some animals eat grass and stay in one spot, but if your thinking about wild animals, the reason they eat grass and travel is because the grass they eat has a nurturiance that most animals need to survive. Mostly farm animals. And after eating grass, the grass have no more nutrients ands it s not healthy anymore. The animal that eat grass will travel to another place with fresh grass there to eat. The do not want to eat that unhealthy food and get sick.
