There is a 2 or 3 letter code on the left side of the barrel back by the receiver. Send me the letter code & I can tell you when it was made.
The Remington Model 10 slide action has barrel lengths of 26" 28" 30" and 32"
It will fit on the frame but the action will not function with 3 inch shells.
Slide the Top Lever to the right to open the chamber. Turn the shotgun upside down. Look at the end of the barrel between the receiver and barrel. Get a flashlight and you'll see a series of numbers stamped in the bottom of the barrel.
The round door on the side has to do with taking the barrel off. It holds the screw in the lower right hand corner stable. If you remove that screw the barrel comes off.

Remington model 41 target master is an awesome old-time single shot .22 rifle. No provisions for a scope only open sights, a very long (69cm) barrel. My grandfather owned one when I was a kid.
Look at the underside of the barrel just ahead of the fore-end of the stock on civilian models. I do not know if US marked Matchmasters have numbers but assume they do.
They were made from 1939 until 1962. There is a 3 digit code on the left side of the barrel just in front of the receiver. The first two letters indicate the date of manufacture. You need to look at a barrel code list and match them up.

AnswerNo. In my research into this question, they dont come with a Remington barrel, but they say that the Remington model 11 barrel is interchangeable with the Savage 720, and visa versa. They will not be interchangeable with the Browning A5 barrel.
