No, Robinson was a deaf/mute and couldn't talk to anyone..just kidding. Of course, Robinson talked to his teammates although some avoided him. Dodgers' shortstop Pee Wee Reese became one of Robinson's closest teammates.

What was Jackie Robinson act of courage?

Jackie Robinson was the first African-American man to play baseball. The major league was fairly new at the non-segregating game, and most African-American men were afraid of the white men already in the major leagues making fun of them for the color of their skin.Jackie Robinson was not fazed by this and as a result, started to play in the Major League. This brought spitting, ridicule, etc. from his teammates because he was black, and Robinson kept going with it, encouraging other blacks to join the major leagues.

How did people treat Jackie Robinson?

Though racist people (both in the stands, in the US, and even his fellow ballplayers) hated him and what he stood for, Robinson kept quiet and persevered through what they said and did. People expected Robinson to become infuriated and/or leave the Brooklyn Dodgers. Instead, he did neither and acted like a gentleman. The racists eventually mellowed, and Robinson and other African American players were accepted into the big leagues.
