Tito Francona, father of Boston Red Sox manager, Terry Francona,

was a lefthanded hitter who enjoyed a good career as an

outfielder/firstbaseman with several teams, breaking in with the

Baltimore Orioles in 1956. He also played for Cleveland, Detroit,

St. Louis, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Oakland and Milwaukee. Considered

a good contact hitter, he posted a career batting average of .272.

By the way, "Tito" real first name(s) was John Patsy.
