Dancers who dance en Pointe they wear shoes that are so tight that they're feet have hardly any room to move. Then they push themselves up onto the end, the toes are on the very tips, but can sometimes be curled under. It depends on how the dancer prefers to wear their shoes.

Do male ballet dancers have to wear tights to perform?

In practices or rehearsals, for the same reason as female ballet dancers do. It is considered an "appropriate" form of dance wear, covers up, and it comfortable. In performances, it is often just how most costumes are done. Females tend to wear dresses or skirts, and men tend to wear simple tights and elaborate tops. That is just how the costumes have evolved, generally speaking.

It really depends, as long as one can enjoy it and not have too many injuries that can affect dancing. An average dancers' career is probably under 20 years. Is the dance company in charlotte good dancers?

Our daughter has been at The Dance Company (TDC) since it opened...she has been under the instruction of Miss Charyl Hunt for most of her 10 years of dance. Since this studio has opened and Miss Charyl has added ballet and technique to our daughters dance schedule we have seen unbelievable steps/leaps forward. More importantly, everyone is a Star at TDC. Charyl and the other instructors care about each kid that they work with. Every dancer has a chance to shine.
