  1. Take the ten index cards and mark six of them (60%) as FT (Free Throw).
  2. Set a counter to 0
  3. Select an index card at random. If it is FT then add one to the counter, if not, don't.
  4. Repeat step three 49 more times.
  5. The counter value is a predicted estimate.

You could have done it much more simply by using the rule of proportionality: x FTs in 50 = 60%

so 100*(x/50) = 60

therefore 2x = 60 and so x = 30.
