The procedures of making a mummy: First, the brain and organs (except the heart) were taken out through a small hole in the body. Then, the organs were washed in wine and put in 4 special jars (canopic jars) with salt Next, the inside of the body was stuffed with salt to preserve it Then the whole body was put in salt for weeks to dry out. When the body was dry, it was wrapped in bandages/ fine linen. The whole process take around 70 days.

They carried it in or lowered it in. Sometimes, the sarcophagus would even be made inside the pyramid and the body brought to it.
