Find the difference between the two teams' win and losses, divide by two.
Example:
Team A..........W-10 L-3
Team B..........W- 8 L-5
Team B is 2 games behind Team A
Team A..........W-10 L-3

Team B is 1 1/2 games behind Team A
No team has ever lost a World Series after taking a 3-0 lead.
If one team is 1.5 games back, win on Tuesday night, and the team ahead of them doesn't play, they get a .5 game so they are now 1.0 game back. If one team is 1.5 games back, win on Tuesday night, and the team ahead of them loses Tuesday night, they gain a full game so they are now .5 games back.
Norway. Norway won gold finishing 1.3 seconds ahead of the team from Germany and 1.5 seconds ahead of the team from the Russian Federation.
This occurs when two teams have played an uneven amount of games. Say one team's record is 84-35, which is 119 games. The team behind them by a half game would be 84-36, at 120 games. Thus, the team with fewer losses is ahead, only because they have not played the same amount of games.

Many people who are playing sports games, are looking ahead to see what type of strategy they can use in order to win the game. Some teams plan ahead before they begin playing the game so all the team members are on the same page.
A team can be a half game ahead of another in the standings if they have not palyed the same number of games. For example if team A has a record of 8-2 and team be has a record of 7-2, team A would be a half game ahead. If team B wins its 10th game, they would have the same record as team A and they would be "even". If team B loses its 10th game, they would be 7-3 and a full game back of team A.

Only the NFL makes the schedule, but you can figure out which teams will play which teams. There are 2 pieces of information needed before figuring which team will play which teams in the next/upcoming season. 1st- Which "ENTIRE" divisions, did Team 1's division play, during the last regular season (Excluding Team 1's own division). 2nd- Which place did Team 1 finish in their own division, during the regular season. Every team plays games against teams in their own division twice (so that's 6 games). Then they play one entire division in both conferences (Thats 8 games 14 total so far). Then 1 team from in the remaining divisions in their own Conference (2 remaining divisions 2 remaining games). Outside of the "entire division games", teams play teams that finished in the same place as they did. Now, think about looking at a map. You see North, East, South and West (going clockwise). NFL teams play "entire divisions" going COUNTER CLOCKWISE. EXAMPLE: If Team 1 is in the NFC East and played the "entire" NFC North , then go counterclockwise and the next year they will play the NFC West the year after that NFC South then the year after that The North (not the East because it's their own division). Team 1 will also have to play an "entire division" from the AFC. And the same rule applies. If they played the AFC South then the next year they will play the West, next year the North, next year the East, and so on and so on.
