There have been two centers selected as the #1 overall choice. In 1949, Hall of Famer Chuck Bednarik, who also played linebacker, was selected by the Philadelphia Eagles and in 1939 Ki Aldrich, who also played linebacker, was selected #1 overall by the Chicago Cardinals.
An offensive guard has never been selected #1 overall in the NFL draft.
