In a July 2008 Sports Illustrated cover story, Tom Verducci called Lincecum "the most fascinating pitcher in baseball." The piece continued: "Not since Mark (the Bird) Fidrych spoke to baseballs, manicured mounds and baffled hitters more than 30 years ago has a pitcher been this consistent and this captivating from the start of his career." I have a pitcher only. If I remember correctly it was my grandmother's (been deceased for many years) and my grandfather (who died before I was born) brought it back (or sent it home) to my grandmother from France where he fought in the First World War. My pitcher is numbered. I always wondered about the artist. Would love to find more about my beautiful keepsake pitcher.
