I'm not exactly a professional dancer but I go through about a pair a week. Most dancers will need a new pair atleast once a month and I have separate ones for performances and practices

Pointe shoes (aka toe shoes) are shoes that we ballerinas wear to enhance our performance. Contrary to popular opinion, Pointe shoes are not made out of wood, but of paper mache. The shoes give the illusion that we are on our toes, while in reality the shoes are supporting our weight and our toes are being cushioned by padding.Pointe shoes are not comfortable, though, and many blisters, bunions, and foot injuries come from dancing "en Pointe." To be able to dance on Pointe you must have had several years of dance and very strong ankles."If you are asking what Pointe shoes are then they are ballet shoes elevated to look like ballerinas where dancing on clouds. If you're asking what Pointe shoes do, they elevate a dancer to full pointe." -Dancecrazed

Hi, It is impossible to gauge what size you would be in pointe shoes. Some shoes are made big and some are made small. There are also other factors in the fitting of pointe shoes eg. width! The only way is to be professionally fitted at a dance store! Do not buy pointe shoes over the internet unless you are a professional dancer who knows exactly what size ,width and make she wears!

'en pointe' is when a ballet dancer stands on their toes in special shoes called 'pointe shoes'. When they are dancing with these shoes on and standing on their toes, they are 'en pointe'. In law and philosophy, if something is on point, it is on topic or closely related to the topic at hand.
This must be done by a professional at a shop selling pointe shoes.
Depends, but it is most likely a factor.

Do by pre-ballet you mean pre-pointe? Because Pre-Pointe is the lesson that is provided to Pointe ballet dancers that are not yet ready to wear or perform in pointe shoes. Commonly the class is the same if not similar to regular pointe class, the only difference is that the dancer wears regular ballet shoes and performs on demi pointe. Basically, pre-pointe is the class that readies your feet and legs for the strength and skill needed to perform in Pointe Shoes.
